Description
EXCLUSIVE AT MR PORTER. Made in collaboration with MR PORTER, this latest iteration of Vacheron Constantin’s revered ‘Fiftysix’ watch was celebrated at London’s Abbey Road recording studio – the design has an elegant, retro influence in keeping with the original mid-century timepiece. Manufactured in a limited run of 30, each model is engraved with its edition number on the stainless steel case, and has an exhibition case back that gives view to the self-winding 2475 SC/2 calibre. There’s plenty to be admired – housed inside is an open-worked 22-karat gold oscillating weight inspired by the Maltese cross, and a power-reserve indication and day-date complication that can be observed on the petrol dial. In true form for the watchmaker, every piece of the movement is decorated – even parts not visible. Aesthetics aside, longevity is also benefited by the use of ceramic in the rotation system, minimising the need for upkeep.
